Kenya Milima Loose Leaf Tea

Milima is a name of tea manufactured at the Saoas Factroy, Kericho. The only estate in Kenya producing Leaf Orthodox Teas which makes this a rare find! With the rich, bright malty and fruity characteristics of our KTDA teas. Teas for Milima are grown at 6000 feet or higher. Milima actually means‘mountain’ or ‘high place’ in ‘Swahili’ language.

Type of Tea– Orthodox African Black Tea.

Origin– Kericho, Kenya, Africa.

Altitude– 6000 feet and above.

Leaf Grade– Golden Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe.

Harvest- June/July Harvest.

Brewing Guide– Use boiling water (100 degrees) infuse for 3-5 minutes.

How to Serve– Serve best with milk or lemon.

Tasting Notes– Impart a floral aroma and taste with a delicious malty and fruity notes.

Colour in Cup– Bright and orange in colour.

Storage– Airtight container away from strong scents.

History- The KTDA (Kenya Tea Development Agency) is a was established in 1964 which took responsibility of promoting the development of tea for small scale farmers; to help expand and manage and improve heir skills. It is now a limited company, owned by 560,000 small scale farmers in the 54 factories. And they have established the KTDA Foundation: a non profit company that champions social responsibility activities of the group and leads its corporate social investment projects.
